Cyprus has a typical Mediterranean climate, summers are hot and dry and winters are warm. In summer the average temperature is 30C (90F), and in the coldest months it is around 10C (50F).
Although Turkish is the official language, English is also widely used and understood. Many hotels employ German and French speaking personnel as well.

• Passport & Visa Requirements
The citizens of European Union (EU), UK, Azerbaijan, Turkey, USA, Canada, Mexico, Iceland, Japan, Russia, Switzerland, Norway, Israel, Azerbaijan, Australia and New Zealand do not require visa.
All other nationals should check their position with regard to passports and visas with the nearest Embassy or Office of Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Visitors who do not wish to have their passports stamped by the authorities on arrival in North Cyprus may request a stamped visa form which is loosely inserted into the passport and removed on departure.
• Banks & Currency
In TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), numerous Turkish and Turkish Cypriot banks operate and are open from Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) between 8am-12am and 2pm-4pm. Turkish Lira is used as the local currency. Exchanging all the currencies in banks, exchange offices and in hotels is possible. All the major credit cards like Visa, Master, Euro cards, and checks are accepted in TRNC.
In TRNC, traffic flows from the left just like in British Islands. International road and traffic signs are used. Maximum traveling speed is 100km/h (62Mph).
There is no custom for private belongings and footstuffs brought by tourists coming to the island.
